After completing a degree in Graphic Design (specialising in Illustration) in 1993, fancypicnic continued to nurture a love of collage and multi-layered artwork. She was constantly seen with a camera tucked under her arm, ready to capture luscious textile details discovered in beautiful old mansion houses and dusty attics.

Marriage and children arrived, and through the years fancypicnic collected and stored a veritable treasure trove of fabrics, buttons, beads and trims, and waited...just waited....for the right time.

In 2008, the right time arrived. Inspiration took hold, and the fancypicnic range of handmade textile jewellery began. Incorporating a vast array of fabrics and often vintage embellishments, the textural pieces were created with love, flair and incredible attention to detail.

Inspired by the Royal Forest that surrounds her cottage, nestled as it is in a clearing deep within the trees, fancypicnic continues to stitch and sew late into the night, whilst her young daughters are asleep and dreaming of woodland fairy adventures. Every piece is unique, and can never be replicated exactly. fancypicnic loves a creative challenge and enjoys nothing more than producing a piece of jewellery that you will wear for a lifetime - and that will get you noticed!
